A native macOS terminal for zsh, bash and fish

Commands in.
Cards out.

Type in a real input bar with autocomplete and history. Every command comes back as a card with its output, exit code and duration, and ⌘K reaches everything else. Your shell and your dotfiles stay as they are.

A demo on this page. The real Cue runs your own shell.

Every command is a card

Output stays with the command that printed it, with its exit code and how long it took. A failed run turns red, and one click asks Claude why.

Copy the command or the output, run it again, or explain the failure.

Three command cards in Cue: git status, ls, and a failing make test with exit 2, and an Explain button above the composer

Programs that ask get a field

When a script stops to ask a yes or no, or a password, the composer turns into a question field with the answers it expects. Passwords stay hidden as you type.

Esc hands the keys back to the terminal whenever you want them.

Cue running a release script that asks to publish v1.4.0; the composer has become a question field with Y and N buttons
The Cue Quick Terminal: a wide panel at the top of the screen showing a git log graph and git status for the orbit project, with the composer at its foot
The Cue command palette searching for run: the Run Task slash command and every task of the orbit project, from dev to typecheck

One palette, and a terminal from anywhere

⌘K finds every menu command, slash command, tab, theme, snippet and recent folder, with the ones you use most first. Themes preview as you arrow past them, and > searches your history.

⌃` slides a Quick Terminal down over whatever app you are in, and it keeps its session between visits. Press it again, or Esc on an empty prompt, to put it away.

It knows what project you're in

Node, Swift, Rust, Go, Python, Make, just or Docker Compose: a chip in the composer opens the project's tasks, with its branch and changes beside them. ⏎ puts a task in the composer, ⌘⏎ runs it.

Pull, push, switch branch and stash are one click away, and they only fill in the command. A quiet chip warns when your node or python doesn't match .nvmrc or .python-version.

The Cue Project panel for orbit: npm and Make detected, a warning that node 22 differs from .nvmrc 20.18.0, the project tasks, and the main branch one commit ahead with three changes and Pull, Push, Switch and Stash buttons
Six Cue command cards, five folded to a single line that says how many lines are hidden and one failing make test left open
Fold a card to one line. Anything over 200 lines opens trimmed.
Find in Cue output: the query .test. highlights five matches across the npm test card, the current match in purple
Find across the pane, one card, or failed cards only.

Long output, under control

Collapse every card with ⌥⌘←, search with ⌘F and step with ⌘G. Quit and come back: Cue reopens your windows, tabs and splits where you left them, with the last lines of each pane above a "Restored from" line.

Your own Claude, one keystroke away

Explain the last error with ⌥⌘E, fix the last command with ⌥⌘F, or describe what you want with ⌘I and get a command back.

Keys you'll reach for

⌃R history, ⇧⌘P snippets, ⌘T a new tab, ⌘D a split, ⌘B folds the sidebar, ⌘K opens the palette.
